| CALENDAR
GIRLS |
Lynda Bellingham, Patricia Hodge, Sian Phillips,
Gaynor Faye, Brigit Forsyth, Julia Hills
and Elaine C Smith star in CALENDAR GIRLS
- Written by Tim Firth
-
- Were
going to need considerably bigger buns
- At first glance it should
look like your classic WI calendar. Jams, cakes, sewing and all
that. Except for one tiny thing...the ladies are not naked, theyre
nude. A group of extraordinary women, members of a very ordinary
WI, persuade one another to pose for a charity calendar with
a difference.
Puzzling their husbands, mortifying their children and riding
the wrath of the outraged WI, they achieve their goal of raising
money for charity, but inadvertently spark a global phenomenon.
- Adapted by Tim Firth from
his smash-hit film of the same name, Calendar Girls is quirky,
poignant and hilarious.

| ABSOLUTELY
FRANK |
- Written by Tim Firth
- Directed by Richard Derrington
- Produced by Stephen Joseph
Theatre, Scarborough
- Starring, Michael Bertenshaw
and Michael Imerson
-
- Frank Tollit puts up giant
letters on the sides of building
s.
From a forty foot 'IKEA' to a five foot 'Comet', Frank's been
the master for thirty years. But in his heart, he always yearned
to work with slightly smaller letters...novels. Spy novels, in
fact. Stories of espionage, treachery, unexpected encounters
in dangerous places, disasters, explosions and daring rescues.
Problem is, they never felt authentic. That is, until the day
Frank turned up for work and found all those things starting
to happen for real. A comedy about a fifty-seven year old man
of letters learning the greatest lesson in life - how to live
happily ever after.
Absolutely Frank began as a one act play A Man Of Letters
which was commissioned by Alan Ayckbourn and performed at
the Stephen Joseph in 1991.

- This musical set in Camden,
is a fast moving romantic comedy, which tells the story of Joe
Casey, his mates, his girlfriend Sarah and the night he commits
a petty crime to impress her. Following the two courses his life
would have taken had he stayed to face the music when the police
appear on the scene or bunked the law and made a run for it.
