The Ladies Football Club

Adapted by Tim from the 2019 verse drama by Stefano Massini, writer or The Lehman Trilogy, the play tells the story of the birth of women’s football in the courtyard of a Northern munitions factory during World War One.  Played by eleven characters in two halves of forty five minutes - with a little extra time - it is a group comedy, a union of dialogue and physical action which charts the course from the unexpected arrival of a ball to the point where women for whom that ball had become an expression of liberation found themselves robbed of it completely.
